<p>The Pends is the road that runs from St Andrews Harbour up to the Cathedral.</p>
<p>The walls here are probably built using the stone from the ruined cathedral. I doubt very much that they are original medieval city walls, especially since there is now a public toilet in the round tower on the left of this photo. The building on the right with the large cross on it, is the old town mortuary, this is now also a public ladies toilet.</p>

<p>Originally founded with a missionary as well as an educational function the chapel is still in use today for sunday services and many a <a href=http://www.reidsphotography.co.uk>wedding</a>.</p>
<p>This is a shot taken from the front of the chapel looking backwards, it shows the ornate chapel organ which sits up on its own platform above the congregation at the rear of the chapel.</p>

<p>St Salvators Chapel, St Andrews, is a excellent example of Late Gothic architecture. Founded in 1450 the chapel has a long history.</p>
<p>Originally founded with a missionary as well as an educational function the chapel is still in use today for sunday services and many a <a href=http://www.reidsphotography.co.uk>wedding</a>.</p>
<p>This shot down the central aisle shows the unusual sideways seating layout, with the Altar being visible at the far end of the chapel.</p>

<p>This is the first one I&#8217;ve finished processing for them. It shows the pulpit of the church. The organ pipes can also be seen in the back ground.</p>

<p>Winter at the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral. Building started in 1158 and continued for over 100 years and was in use until the reformation in 1559.</p>
<p>When intact it had 6 turrets, two of which are visible in the above photo, they stand 30 meters (100 feet) high. The top of St Rules tower (the square tower) can be seen in the distance.</p>

<p>The tower is part of the church that was built in 1127AD to hold the relics of Saint Andrew, Saint Rule (aka Saint Regulus) is said to have brought the relics of Saint Andrew to the area. The tower is pretty much all that is left of the church and stands next to the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral.</p>
